Wind Turbine

4 Saskatchewan hockey rinks to be powered by Sask Power wind project.

Sask Power has announced four communities that were chosen from more than 150 communities that expressed interest in participating in the project. It’s all part of a demonstration project aimed at testing the province’s wind potential. The goal is to determine if self-generating electricity will lower power bills associated with operating municipal rinks in each community. The following turbines will be installed and operational in Central Butte, Eatonia, Shaunavon and Strasbourg by late summer and will be monitored for up to five years. The wind turbine will be situated on town land SW of town.
