Arena: As the arena and ice plant are getting older we are facing many costly repairs and upgrades to the facility. The Recreation Board will be holding fundraisers to help with the costs and we hope you will be able to help by supporting our efforts to keep the Arena up and running.
Farewell Curling Rink Funspiel: In the Arena on March 23, 24 & 25. Watch for posters and more info to come. Another Arena Fundraiser!
Swimming Pool: Just a reminder to anyone wanting to Lifeguard at the pool this summer now is a good time to look into training courses or recertification. Some upcoming courses are listed on the Lifesaving Society website at www.lifesavingsociety.sk.ca. If you have questions about lifeguarding requirements, courses, etc. Please call the Rec Office at 967-2557.
Proud Moments
The Eatonia Recreation Board is happy to announce a new section to the News letter called Proud Moments. This section will feature accomplishments from youth in the community worth bragging about, whether it is sports, recreation or cultural achievements, we want to hear about it and tell everyone in the community about your proud moment. Anyone can submit a proud moment to be published either for you or for someone else, just email the rec office at eatoniarec@yourlink.ca and give a brief description. Check out this month's section of Proud Moments.
December 2011: Congratulations to Trisha Lee for winning and moving on to Provincials in Regina with Bowling. Way to Go!!
Jump in, Saskatchewan! Saskatchewan in Motion:
We're challenging Saskatchewan families to do just one thing to make sure kids can move every day.
Research tells us this generation - your kids - could have a shorter and less healthy life than their parents, thanks in part to inactivity. Only 15% of Saskatchewan kids are active enough to meet national guidelines.
Are you OK with that?
Join a movement of people and organizations across the province who is making a difference. Doing your part is easy. Go to www.jumpin.ca
- Commit to just one action.
- Download what you need to get started.
- Get a move on!
Small actions can have a big impact. Pledge to do your part in a way that's most meaningful to you. But most importantly, jump in!
Proceeds from the sale of Saskatchewan Lotteries products such as Lotto 6/49, Western 6/49, and Scratch & Win are placed in the Saskatchewan Lotteries Trust Fund. Grants from this fund are used to support more than 12,000 sport, culture, recreation and community groups in the province. Community groups in Eatonia receive funding from the Saskatchewan Lotteries Grant Program.
